The soundproof room is an isolating test enclosure designed for manufacturing floors that carry their own test requirements, and it creates a compact quiet room through careful internal absorption. A typical unit measures about 2000 by 2000 by 2000mm outside and 1700 by 1700 by 1800mm inside, with a noise floor of 20 to 40dB(A) and sound reduction above 50dB.
The room uses a four layer approach: a single or double skin hollow isolating shell, a floating vibration damped structure, a ventilation silencing system and acoustic doors and windows. Together these balance isolation, cooling airflow and comfortable access for the operator. Sizes are made to order, casters can be added so the room rolls into place, and the whole unit can be taken apart and reused.
Soundproof rooms are used mainly for fast simulated acoustic testing of automotive electronics, electromechanical, home appliance and telecom products, and they suit motors, audio devices and transformers especially well. The solution is already trusted by leading names such as Philips, Bosch, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Omron.
